I want to share the story of what happened to me when I visited Moldova and say thank you to the friends there who helped me.

Also I want to shed a bit of light on this country’s history as a means    of saying something about its people and providing the necessary background context to help explain Moldova’s situation today.

It’s not as difficult as the Schleswig-Holstein question:

"Only three people have ever really understood the Schleswig-Holstein business – Prince Albert, who is dead – a German professor, who has gone mad – and I, who have forgotten all about it.”

Lord Palmerston, British Prime Minister, about 1860.
